<p>Any fruit or vegetable will have some calcium, but there are those which are simply loaded.  Sesame seeds have more calcium than any other food, but they are not something you can eat by the cupful.  You can, however, spread some sesame paste on your sprouted grain bread, toss some in your cooking or look for Middle Eastern recipes which frequently include it.</p>
<p>Vegetable sources of merit include spinach and collard greens.  Swiss chard, kale, broccoli and celery also have plenty of calcium for you to enjoy.  Papaya and oranges contain it too, and if you eat a food rich in vitamin C along with your calcium you absorb it better.</p>
<h2><strong>If You Can’t Stand to Eliminate Dairy from Your Diet</strong></h2>

<p>I like a bit of protein at lunch, and it is a good idea to include some in each meal anyway.  Salads with a sliced chicken breast or some steak are simple and quick when I use leftovers, but sometimes I want to make something more fun.</p>

<li><strong>Quinoa salad</strong> – Quinoa is the only      grain that offers a complete protein making it ideal for so many      things.  I cook the <a href="http://www.thedietsolutionprogram.com/content/2011/01/warm-quinoa-salad/">quinoa</a> in      advance, toss in chopped cucumbers, parsley, peas, carrots and raw cashews      or almonds.  Then I dress it with      some extra virgin olive oil and a bit of lemon juice; sprinkle on some sea      salt and white pepper and I’m ready to enjoy lunch at the park.</li>
<li><strong>Crustless quiche</strong> – That muffin tin      is good for so many things.  Oil      your cups.  Mix a bunch of veggies,      meats or what have you in the cup and cover it with a couple of      tablespoons of shredded, raw milk cheese.       Beat several eggs with a bit of water and pour over the fillings      until the cup is nearly full.  Bake      until firm.  Pop them out and you      have the basis of several meals.</li>
</ol>
<h2><strong>Dinner Delights</strong></h2>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p>The truth is that dinner really doesn’t change much.  Use whole grains to substitute for those nutritionally empty carbs you used to get from white potatoes or pasta.  Enjoy grass fed beef as steaks, stews or burgers.  Salmon, halibut and tuna are all available caught in the wild.  Salads are natural side dishes as are any available seasonal vegetables.</p>

<p>Even the products marketed as 100% whole wheat, aren’t actually whole wheat.  Germ, the outer layer of wheat, is loaded with oils, as well as nutrients, and those oils spoil, or go rancid very quickly.  The larger the particles, the faster it spoils.</p>
<p>The government, understanding this problem, allows manufacturers to sift off the larger pieces, leaving less than 50% of the germ in “whole wheat” products.  Those particles oxidize quickly, preventing spoilage, but they also lose their nutritional value when that happens.</p>
<p>If you are willing to purchase your own wheat berries and grind your grain just before you eat it, whole wheat would be just as valuable to you as other whole grains.  If you can’t commit to doing that, skip the wheat, and choose other, better whole grains.</p>
<h2><strong>What Kinds of Whole Grain Should You Choose?</strong></h2>
