How to Succeed with The Diet Solution Program

You Can’t Live on a Diet

There is an increasing body of research that tells us that it is impossible to live long term on a diet.  This is defining diet as a way of eating that restricts your caloric intake significantly.  The reason this doesn’t work is that you can’t fool your brain.  Once you decrease your intake, your body learns to adjust by slowing your metabolism.  To continue weight loss, you have to decrease intake again.  Eventually, you reach a breaking point.

More effective is a way of eating that encourages good choices, healthy options and sufficient food to sustain you.  What you eat is just as important as how much you eat.

Get Off the Diet Roller Coaster

The diet world has two roller coasters — the first is the weight going off and on, but it is caused by the second — insulin response.  Much of the modern diet revolves around foods filled with sugars, chemicals and refined ingredients.

When sugar enters the bloodstream in large quantities the pancreas releases insulin to combat it.  High sugar levels are bad for you.  The insulin then quickly removes the sugar, storing it as fat.  What you feel during that process is commonly called a “crash.”  You end up hungry, irritable and craving more sugar. Up and down you go, until you learn to get off.

Stabilizing your Diet

There is nothing truly new under the sun, and the same can easily be said of weight loss.  In order to stop battling with your body you need to adopt a new way of eating, or perhaps, an old way of eating.

Some people call it The Caveman Diet, but the principles are simple.  Avoid refined foods, those grown in conventional methods which loads them with chemicals and depletes them of nutrients, and protein sources which are not grown naturally.

For beef or lamb, that means they should be grass fed meats. Also, don’t forget to include organically raised poultry and wild caught fish.  Fruits and vegetables should be a big part of your diet, in their whole state, organically raised if at all possible.  Abandon wheat and most dairy, and we will explain why in other articles, and incorporate raw nuts, whole grains and plenty of water.

You won’t be hungry, you will feel great, and effortlessly you will see those unwanted pounds start to drop off.
